CARIBBEAN HERITAGE AS AN INSPIRATION

Every year from September 15 to October 15, the United States celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month. This year, American Center Prague will partner with the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Prague for an exhibition.  The art, created by two female painters from the Dominican Republic, depict stories from the Caribbean, highlights of Caribbean culture and a view into the day-to-day lives of Dominicanos.

CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF

Come to the American Center and discuss the well-known drama of Tennessee Williams Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.  The play won the 1955 Pulitzer Prize for drama. Join us for a talk about the relationships of  one big family from the Mississippi Delta. In addition to a number of Broadway productions and revivals, the play was also adapted into a motion picture of the same name starring Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman.
