If you like mountain climbing or not, you could enjoy Jon Krakauer’s novel Into Thin Air. It is both a thrilling story about conquering the highest peak on the Earth, and an analysis of the commercialization of mountain hiking in Himalayas. Krakauer himself participated in a May 1996 expedition to the top of Mount Everest during which eight climbers died.
