About the Event

To mark the second anniversary of the Russia’s full-scale invasion to Ukraine, American Center Prague and Team4Ukraine invite you to the panel discussion about situation in the city of Izyum. Russian forces occupied the city in the Kharkiv region in March 2022.  The Ukrainian army liberated it six months later.    They discovered a mass grave with hundreds of bodies. Since the beginning of the invasion, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have been documenting war crimes and the destruction of the civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.  During the discussion, you will hear from Czech observers who are travelling to Ukraine to collect evidence of war crimes, and meet Tetiana Pryvalikhina, who witnessed the Russian bombing of Izyum.

In addition to the discussion, you can view an exhibition of photos from Kharkiv Region. Pictures taken by the Maidan Monitoring Information Center capture the sometimes graphic war crimes and destruction of civilian infrastructure.  The project is supported by a grant from U.S. Embassy Prague. You can learn more about this project at www.team4ukraine.eu.
