In support of International Roma Day (April 8), the U.S. Embassy’s American Center will screen a special documentary for Film Club, Gypsy Caravan (2007). The documentary follows five different Gypsy bands as they perform across the United States.
Their music is as diverse as their home countries, from Indian raga tunes to upbeat, fiddle-driven Romanian pieces. Despite their varied backgrounds, the musicians are united by their common identification with the “Roma” Gypsy culture.
