Myra Thomson received a Fulbright student scholarship to study in Moscow for the 2008-09 school year and is now finishing a collection of short stories based on her research there. She lives in her hometown of Chicago where she is an MFA candidate at Northwestern University. She has had the privilege to learn from outstanding writers and faculty members, such as Stuart Dybek and Aleksandar Hemon, and to serve as a fiction reader for TriQuarterly Online.
Elizabeth Koster was born and raised in New York City. She received a B.A. in English and Theater from Oberlin College and an M.A. in English Education. During her teaching career, she studied nonfiction at New York’s Unterberg Poetry Center with Joyce Johnson and Kathryn Harrison, and at summer conferences with Patricia Hampl and Phillip Lopate. This fall, she will start an MFA in creative nonfiction at Columbia University, where she plans to complete her memoir. Elizabeth will be reading excerpts from her memoir titled Too Much Candy Causes Cancer.
