Of half-Armenian and half-Roma origin, she grew up on a Roma theater tour through the former Soviet Union, allowing for a surprising level of freedom during Communist era. As a Soviet immigrant with her family to the United States, she again experienced a kind of social exclusion. This book about searching one’s own identity while breaking free from traditional stereotypes offers a unique insight. Co-organized with the Václav Havel Library. Karolína Ryvolová will moderate.
