Election is an American comedy-drama film based on Tom Perrota’s 1998 novel. The director Alexander Payne and screenwriter Jim Taylor received an Oscar nomination for the Best Adapted Screenplay. The film is set at a high school in Omaha, Nebraska during the time of school body election and it is a satire of both politics and suburban high school life.
