About the Event

The U.S. has been a leader in innovation and entrepreneurship for many decades. Its centers of innovation activity are always clustered around major academic and non-profit research institutions that are a major source of ideas. Realizing this potential and opportunity, states such as California, New York and Massachusetts are dominating this eco-system. In these states, governments, academia and industry work collaboratively in maintaining a start-up friendly environment.

The Czech Republic has equally a tradition of higher learning (some of the oldest Universities in Europe are located here), however, the start-up and innovation culture has been less robust. There is interest in formulating a strategic agenda for the grass root development of innovation and entrepreneurship change. The workshop will bring together experts from the U.S. and representatives of innovation centers/hubs and incubators across the Czech Republic.

In English.

The workshop will be divided into two panels:

• Morning session: Integration of Innovation and Entrepreneurship into education
• Afternoon session: The Role of Government-Universities-Industry partnerships in Building Sustainable Innovation Programs – Bottom-Up vs Top-to Bottom
