About the Event

Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, and James Stewart are a guarantee of hilariousness! Directed by George Cukor, the film is based on a Broadway play of the same name by Philip Barry. The film is about a socialite whose wedding plans are complicated by the simultaneous arrival of her ex-husband and a tabloid magazine journalist. Written for the screen by Donald Ogden Stewart and an uncredited Waldo Salt, it is considered one of the best examples of a comedy of remarriage, a genre popular in the 1930s and 1940s. At the 1940 Academy Awards, The Philadelphia Story received six nominations and two wins.

In English, with English subtitles, 112 mins. Admission is free, and no reservation is required.
