About the Event

While planet Mars was considered for the next human mission to space, the Moon now takes priority for human spaceflight programs among spacefaring countries in the near term.  Since a human mission of this scale requires resources exceeding the budgets of most space agencies, a joint effort by several countries may be indispensable to success.  Czech Space Office Director Jan Kolář will be the keynote speaker at this seminar, and will explain the Czech perspective on space security.  He is associate professor at the Czech Technological University in Prague, and from 2012-2014 served as Vice-President of the International Astronautical Federation. This seminar is a part of the joint PSSI/Charles University’s Master’s Degree Program in International Security Studies.  After the discussion, the official opening of the “Man on the Moon” exhibition will take place.

This program will be in English.
