About the Event

Since then, RFE played a significant role in the Czech-American relations. The station began its broadcast with a commitment to provide its listeners with legitimate news reports that respected the American tradition of free speech and balanced, professional, and up-to-date reporting. These are the key principles that RFE/RL continues to uphold even today. In 2018, RFE/RL provides balanced and uncensored reporting to over 20 countries. Besides radio broadcasting, the station provides its audience with news on the internet, mobile apps, YouTube, and recently also via its own TV station called Current Time.

Join the discussion on the role of the RFE in Czechoslovakia with historian Prokop Tomek, Military History Institute Prague (VHÚ), journalist Petr Brod, and journalist Jefim Fistejn. Radko Kubičko, journalist from the Czech Radio (Český rozhlas), will moderate the discussion.

The program will be in Czech.
