Spojené státy nemají státní školský systém. S výjimkou vojenských akademií nejsou školy řízeny federální vládou. Flexibilní studijní programy vytvářený stavebnicovým způsobem umožňují studentům přispůsobit obsah studia, zvláště na bakalářské úrovni, podle svých potřeb a zájmů.

Diskusní pořad Velvyslanectví USA „90 minut o Americe“ reaguje každý měsíc na aktuální dění v USA.

Adam Schaefer has a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and a J.D. (law) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He has worked as an online writer and editor for the Indianapolis Star, has written more than 50 published books for children, and has edited volumes on Czech law and Chinese economics. During law school, where he concentrated on First Amendment and media law, he was published in the North Carolina Law Review, was an editor on the First Amendment Law Review, and won the Gressman-Pollitt Award for Outstanding Oral Advocacy. After law school, Mr. Schaefer served as Chief-of-Staff for the Mayor of Chapel Hill, N.C., spent a year writing and editing in the Czech Republic, and taught on a small Caribbean island before taking his current position as Assistant Director of the Parr Center for Ethics in the Department of Philosophy.

Theresa Stone has a B.A. in International Education with a focus on trans-national cultures as well as a minor in Italian from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a M.Ed. in Global Education Policy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is also certified to teach English as a Second Language and has an additional specialization in Business English teaching. While completing her B.A. in International Studies, Ms. Stone gained international living experience by participating in a UNC Study Abroad program in Florence, Italy. Ms. Stone currently serves as the Department Manager for the Philosophy Department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she oversees all human resources, financial, and academic administrative work for the department. In 2009, Ms. Stone won the University Manager’s award for “Outstanding Encouragement of Learning and Development”. In her free time, Ms. Stone enjoys playing music, making art, travelling, and studying foreign languages.
