This month we’re discussing a novel by an American novelist from Colorado, Kent Haruf. A spare yet eloquent, bittersweet but inspiring story of a man and a woman who, in old age, come together to wrestle with the events of their lives and their hopes for the imminent future. Their brave adventures – their pleasures and difficulties – are engaging and resonant, making Our Souls at Night the perfect idea for a film. It was shot in 2017 with Jane Fonda and Robert Redford.
