For everybody who loves reading love stories, as well as those who are fans of history or horror, please join us for the next American Center Book Club! We will discuss Gene Deitch’s book For the Love of Prague which falls under all of these categories. For thirty years, during the Communist rule in Czechoslovakia, Gene Deitch was the only American citizen continuously living there who was also completely free regime control. Love and animated films made him stay; and he saw, heard, and personally experienced life in the Czech lands behind the Iron Curtain. No reporter, who flew in, contacted a few dissidents, and flew out again, could ever match his experience, insight, or personal adventures. The New York Times, hailed this book as a spicy, funny memoir!
In English, please, RSVP at firstname.lastname@example.org until December 7. This time we will meet at Zoom.
