Participants in the Vaclav Havel and Jiri Dienstbier Journalism Fellowship programs, from countries on the front-lines of conflict and change, will talk about the role of disinformation in their societies, its impact on professional journalism, and the need, more than ever, for fact-based, reliable reporting. In many of their countries, economic factors also affect the quality of information people receive, favoring powerful interests and agendas while making it difficult for alternative voices to be heard.
The Vaclav Havel Journalism Fellowship and the Jiri Dienstbier Fellowship are joint initiatives of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Fellows from Russia, Ukraine, Kosovo, and Bosnia-Herzegovina will provide remarks and answer your questions.
Moderator: Petr Horky, Respekt
Bosna and Hercegovina : Una Cilic
Kosovo: Nektar Negjani
Russia: Natalia Kondrashova
Ukraine: Glib Zhavoronkov
The program will be in English.
