About the Event

On Czech Wikipedia, there are five times more articles about men than about women. There is also a large disparity between the contributors themselves – males outnumber female Wikipedians (10:1), and even between male and female readers, although that difference is not so large. This phenomenon applies to all language versions of Wikipedia and, in fact, to the entire Internet. Many important, interesting, and significant women remain underappreciated and hidden. Real change can only come if we all join forces to bring about the change. Are you going to join us?

Join our online or offline editathon and edit Wikipedia with us. At the editing marathons, which usually last around three hours, lecturers are available to help you edit Wikipedia. You don’t need to have any previous experience – anyone can do it.  You also do not have to edit – you can simply join us and support the Month of Women on Wikipedia just by showing up.

Our editathon will take place on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at American Center Prague, Trziste 13, 118 00, Praha. Online participation via Zoom will be available too. There will be special guests joining us so  there is definitely something to look forward to!

In Czech. RSVP by filling out the form below.
