The lecture organized by The Czech IVLP Alumni Club (International Visitor Leadership Program is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program).

The program will be held in Czech and followed by discussion.

In his research, Dr. Jan Payne examines issues  of medicine and ethics. His work in bioethics is devoted to the realm of values, with particular attention to their role in medicine and medical care. He also analyzes issues of resolution, man’s will, value relations, quality and the sense of life, good and evil, death, and the relation of mental activity and brain. When examining crises in human life, he applies phenomenological, electrophysical and psychological methods. His goal is to create and implement ethical procedures in medical practice.
