Her translations of Čapek´s work received fine reviews: Tales from Two Pockets was a Publisher’s Weekly “Best Book of the Year”; Booklist starred “Apocryphal Tales” and termed it “a radiant volume”; the two short-story collections, published together and titled “Cross Roads” in English, was termed “poetic meditations” by the New York Times Book Review (with an idyllic piece in the Prague Post, among other reviews).
For her intensive work on Karel Čapek, Norma Comrada will be awarded with the Karel Čapek Medal by Čapek Brothers Society in January 2015. In English.
