Summer has begun, and we are thrilled to launch American Film Summer 2025! This year, in honor of commemorations for the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, we will be screening films under the theme of heroism. As the first movie in the series, we invite you to Sully, based on the true story of a pilot who miraculously landed a plane with a broken engine on the Hudson River. Although none of the passengers were seriously injured, pilot Chesley “Sully“ Sullenberger finds himself under intense scrutiny because of an investigation revealing that the plane could have made it to the airport, and one of the engines was still working. The movie stars Tom Hanks and is directed by Clint Eastwood.
