Join us on December 10, 2024, at the American Center to learn more about the opportunities and conditions for obtaining sports scholarships at universities in the U.S. Jan Woska, representative of the Czech Embassy in the U.S., will present his welcome remarks and then you will have a chance to participate in a discussion with the founder of the agency Stipendia.cz, former tennis player Monika Mertová, a graduate of Lynn University in Florida, and former rowing representative and graduate of Washington State University, Daniela Nacházelová.

JUDr. Jan Woska, Cultural Attaché of the Czech Embassy in Washington The representative of the Czech Embassy in Washington will present selected activities in the field of sports diplomacy and cooperation with Czech athletes in the U.S. He will elaborate on his experiences with Czech – American university cooperation. Finally, Jan Woska will outline the structure of Czech diplomatic missions in the U.S. and other support points for Czech citizens, including the large expatriate community.
Ing. Monika Mertová, MBA, founder of Stipendia.cz, former top tennis player Monika Mertová will describe the American university system, the basic rules of sports university associations, the entire process, and the conditions for admission to American university. She will present the possibilities of obtaining sports and academic scholarships. The agency Stipendia.cz is the largest Czech intermediary of sports and academic scholarships with almost twenty years of history.
Mgr. Daniela Nacházelová, MPA, rower, writer, entrepreneur, sports diplomat Daniela Nacházelová will show you, through her personal story, the possibilities of combining sports and education at the Washington State University, where she studied and rowed for the Cougars team. After returning to the Czech Republic, Daniela used her newly acquired knowledge to start a company selling functional trainers. She continues to actively help young athletes from the rowing community obtain scholarships at American universities because she believes that quality education is the best investment in the future generation of athletes, who will later become leaders of our country. Daniela recently returned from a mentoring internship at the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) headquarters, where she learned more about sports at American universities.
