About the Event

The Japanese torpedo bombers flew so low over her house, she could see the pilot’s face and goggles. The attack brought the United States into WWII.

She is the author of three WWII books written for young adults. Her book, Remember World War II, Kids Who Survived Tell Their Stories, published by National Geographic includes the story of Jirina Zizkovska, who was 15 in 1939 living in Plzen.
