In order to mark World Press Freedom Day we will focus on media freedom at the American Center Film Club this month. The Post (2017, 116 mins) explores political pressure on The Washington Post’s publisher related to internal, controversial government documents about the Vietnam War. The screening will be followed by a discussion with Czech journalists on media freedom in the Czech Republic and in the world today. How do journalists handle real-life pressure from politicians and media company owners? Is it possible to be genuinely independent today? Join the debate!
Screening in English, discussion in Czech.
