Geri Taper (1929 – 2004) lived and worked for more than thirty years in New York City which she often used as her canvas.
Geri dazzled audiences in the United States and Europe with her abstract paintings, luminous renderings of flowers and trees, mixed-media work in bronze, aluminum and other metals, industrial sculptures and enamels. Her pieces are now part of wide-ranging collections and displays at such places as the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), Citibank, the Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance and Mt. Sinai Hospital. Geri’s artistic philosophy “I believe we see not with our eyes, but with our vision” led her to a remarkably productive career until she passed away in 2004.
Thanks to professional connection as well as to personal friendships with Jiwon Shin, founder and Global CEO of Firefly Branding, there were created a very special fashion collection based on Geri Taper´s artwork, mainly on pieces from collections Red and blue, Language and Metal series. The signature ties and scarves were manufactured and designed uniquely for Firefly Branding who is the exclusive representative of Taper´s art work.
