About the Event

This year, again, we shall introduce a number of Czech Fulbright grantees who had a chance to study in the U.S. and today represent the best of their respective fields.

Ondřej Dostál is as a legal consultant specializing in the areas of health legislation, business projects in the field of health care, and medical malpractice litigation. Graduated in law from Charles University in Prague (Magister Iuris 2003, Doctor Iuris in Criminal Law 2004, Ph.D. in European, International and Constitutional Law 2005) followed by a LL.M. in Health Law from the St.Louis University, School of Law. Mr Dostál also works as a university teacher – head of the Center for Health Law, Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. He is also a president of the Czech Association for Medical Law and Bioethics, member of the World Association of Medical Law, and he has served as a consultant to the Czech Ministry of Health and several Members of Parliament. Mr Dostál is the author of numerous articles on medical law and health policy both in the Czech Republic and abroad, and co-author of the book Criminal Law and Medicine. Interests include medical law, bioethics, patient rights and health care reform in Central and Eastern Europe.
