Discussion “Invisible Republic: The Future of America” | Prague Writers’ Festival

American Center, Tržiště 13, Praha 1 – Malá Strana
Fee: Free

About the Event

Writers Anita Desai (India), Jerome Rothenberg (USA), and Gunduz Vassaf (Turkey) will discuss their literary forms in a conversation with PWF Director Michael March.

In English.

This year the festival focuses on the future—with the theme: “Only the future exists.”

In the past, the future appeared bright. Now the future appears gray.
If the present seems hysterical—the future casts a shadow.
It seems that many elements of early twentieth-century Futurism—violence, speed, destruction—preside today.
How extraordinary to recall Marinetti’s speculation of a “wireless imagination”.
If the present is the “unlived past”—why trust the future?
