WHAT IS IT? The course “US Foreign Policy in the 21st century” is offered online via Coursera, starting from October 20. It will address the following questions: · What is American foreign policy? · Who makes it? · Why is it the way it is? · How does it affect the rest of the world?

THE LECTURERS Professor Bruce Jentleson of the Duke University has taught the subject for over 30 years, written one of the leading books on it, and has served in numerous U.S. foreign policy positions. The seminars at the American Center will be led by experienced diplomats and their guests.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT? While participating in the online course, the American Center offers you the unique opportunity to go deeper. Every week following the online lecture, you will have a chance to discuss the course content with foreign policy practitioners. U.S. diplomats from the U.S. Embassy in Prague will discuss the content of the session with you in person. You can ask questions! Discuss issues pertaining to US foreign policy! Learn more! Engage! And meet inspiring people with the same interests!
CERTIFICATE After successfully completing the class you will be awarded by a certificate from the U.S. Embassy in Prague during a graduation ceremony in December. Who qualifies for a certificate? A person will qualify for a certificate if they attend in at least 5 sessions and actively participate in the discussions.

7) December 5, 4 pm: Follow-Up Discussion to Class 6 Africa: Persisting Old Issues, Pressing Newer Ones
