Join us for the next American Center Film Club event! This time, we will focus on Czech-American figures who worked in Hollywood studios on visual tricks and special effects. In a discussion with the former Czech Consul General in Los Angeles Jaroslav Olša, Jr., you will learn, among other things, which Czech-American became the first person to ever win an Oscar for special effects. After the discussion, stay for a screening of a lavishly staged black-and-white film from the 1930s. Reserve your seat today! The film club series “Czechs in the Early Days of Hollywood” runs through December.
Discussion in Czech, film screening in English. Duration: 94 mins. RSVP by filling out the form below.
