The tour included a meeting with George HW Bush in the White House, with many other prominent politicians, with expatriates and students. In the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York was a celebration in honor of Czechoslovak president, in which many well-known artists performed.
This visit became the foundation for friendly relations between the two countries, which resulted in the admission of the Czech Republic to the North Atlantic Alliance.
The event will compose of two panels: the first, moderated by Josef Jařab, will focus mainly on the memories of 1990, the second panel will be moderated by Jan Macháček and will address the current relations between the Czech Republic and the USA.
The speakers will include Daniel Anýž, Veronika Bednářová, Eda Kriseová, Jiří Pehe, Martin Mejstřík and others.
