Space is opening up to an increasing number of actors, which means sharing the benefits of space with more people and nations. Yet as more countries integrate space travel into their capabilities and rely on space-based information for national security, chances increase that any interference with satellites could spark or escalate a crisis or conflict.

Space is also becoming more commercialized: the rise of small satellites yields a tremendous shift,  leading to recalculations by many state actors on how to ensure security and stability in space.  This talk will explore these changes over the past decade and what the next big changes to space will be. Ms. Victoria Samson, Washington Office Director for the Secure World Foundation, will speak.
